Poor John. He posted regularly on the QRH (unofficial) forum. I got to know him quite well. What a remarkable man he was. His story is one of those ones which defines the career British soldier and should never be forgotten. http://www.paradata.org.uk/people/john-dale-glossop-0
SK, thank you so much for letting us know of his passing. RIP John. You were a legend in life, I hope your passing was easy and that you enjoy what God has planned as your reward. EDIT: As usual my first inclination was to inform HHQ. It appears they were aware that John had passed on the 22nd Oct 2014. From what I can gather his wife predeceased him by just a few days.

I've just been updated about John's passing by our obits guy.
John was taken to hospital by air ambulance just before his wife's funeral. He didn't recover. Daphne's funeral was put on hold and a double funeral was held instead. My friend feels he just couldn't live without her. The last thing they did together was go to Holland at the Airborne 70th anniversary, they both attended a Special service at the Memorial to the Dutch Resistance where John played a major part representing the Chairman of the Cornish Airborne branch.
