Default Pair of collar badges

Here I am back for another basic question. Amongst a lot of badges I obtained some time back was this pair of, I assume, collar badges. Can anyone please identify the unit and period?

I am afraid these a broken pair of bugles.
They should be strung and finishing in a triple looped knot.

Worn on Light Infantry shoulder titles and as a trade badge on the arm by Buglers.

They are very incomplete and have no value.

regards
