Hi Nozzer, sure. I'll try and take some better pics than the one's of the listing.
I became aware of them myself when about I'd say 6 months ago, I saw one; not on a slider but a pin similar to this badge. http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ictureid=80697 In his listing he showed a page from a reference book that did illustrate the one he was selling. I think it went for a pretty penny. When I saw the one I got recently, it did past my my mind why is it on a slider not a needle pin. But I would imagine it wouldn't take much to knock them up at a local badge manufacturer as they would suit the General Service cap better to apply and stay there. I think the needle pin version was more for the lapel of their suits or flat caps they were forced to where until their uniforms turned up. Maybe the slidered version was for men who were weekend warriors who had GS cap's already. Just some thoughts on the subject. Cheers Simon. |

Hi Andy, here you go. Sorry about the pic quality, but I no longer have Adobe Photoshop on this new Mac, and I've just looked up what it will cost to buy the Adobe Suite.................badges come first..... , it'll have to wait.
But it's good enough to show you the one I picked up. Regards Simon. |

Thanks Simon,
Mine would appear to have a home made slider and is not as neatly done as yours. I will try and get a couple of better images of mine tomorrow. Regards, Andy |

Hi Andy, thanks. I'd like to see it and how the slider was attached.
Cheers Simon. |

These are the old pictures.
Not that good, but I think you can tell. Last edited by Nozzer; 17-02-18 at 10:24 PM. |

I can see what you mean Andy. Wouldn't like to make a decision either way on that one. As they say, keep it for now and keep you eye's peeled for the future.
You know it's probably one of those item's that get thrown into a box of junk at a show or flea market. Probably more prevalent than you think. I just know what to look for now. Regards Simon. |
