The ones I have ever seen are stamped "STERLING SILVER"

On checking the mark on one I have is sterling silver. I have another with no mark , just the usual mark on the cartridge case. Out of interest one of the pencils contained is multi sided- the other round. Regards, Paul.

50/50 here too - three with a sterling silver marked tip and three without.

Tony, with your larger sample- is there a more common type of pencil or do they vary- I would think it hard to be sure a pencil stub to be period. Regards, Paul.
