Default Another US Medal of Honor awarded

Looks like the US has upgraded the Silver Star award for Staff Sgt. David G. Bellavia to the Medal of Honor.

Its always interesting to hear when a MOH or VC is awarded to someone.

G'day Mick, thanks for posting that. Is the Medal of Honor equivalent to the VC?

Phil.

Yes mate - From Wikipedia:

' The Medal of Honor is the United States of America's highest and most prestigious personal military decoration that may be awarded to recognize U.S. military service members who have distinguished themselves by acts of valor.'

The article states that the Silver Star is the second highest U.S. award for gallantry when, unless I'm mistaken, it is the third highest. The second highest award is the Distinguished Service Cross (Army)/Navy Cross/Air Force Cross/Coast Guard Cross.
