Unvoided PPCLI ?
I have this black KC PPCLI badge.
I found this on the Scully site gallery: http://www.williamscully.ca/gallery2...geViewsIndex=1 What do they mean by "unvoided" |

A Voided answer...
Sorry about the pun...
Voiding is the removal of material from the badge, usually around the central portion. See the example of the 5th Bn CEF cap badges below. Material has been removed from around the horse banner and numeral. So, unvoided in the PPCLI case means that no material has been removed from around the cypher. There is a variety of that pattern of badge that is voided. |

voided version
I think Scully's web description just notes that this is the 1933 solid-pattern badge, as opposed to the later, voided, bi-metal badge redesign. You can see the difference at: http://www.ww2ppcli.com/

Here is a PPCLI other ranks' badge, king's crown voided pattern currently for sale on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/WW-I-I-Cap-Badge...QQcmdZViewItem

Bill that vioded pattern is listed wrong as it dates from 1948 -1952.

that is the 1936-48 pattern . The officer voided pattern appeared in 1933 .Due to production problems the solid pattern was in use through into the Korea conflict.
