Default Reconnaissance Cap Badge.

Hi Guys,
I recently purchased this recce cap badge from eBay. I thought it looked okay from the pictures but now it’s in my hand I’m not so sure.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hello Lee, the badge looks good to me, hopefully others will confirm.

Lee. Difficult to tell from the photo due to shadow but I was always led to believe that if the spear haft below the scroll was thinner than above, then that was a tell tale sign of a fake. As always happy to be proved wrong.

Looks ok the shaped triangle end to the slider where it joins the badge is not seen on common fakes.

Thanks Guys.
Apart from the thinner shaft of the spear, is there anything else to look out for?

It appears to have a slider identical to the one attached; crimped to fit the lightning bolt. That is a good sign.

Thanks Luc,
It’s very daunting starting out collecting, when there are so many fakes.
