Hello tanda 56, not my collecting area but those are the colours of the REME , Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers , as I say not positive on that but I’m sure those in the know will confirm correctly.

Hi, I’m sure REME is Red-yellow- blue ?? I know the flash as you look at it shows blue - yellow-red but the colours are the same I think

All the REME flashes I have seen are red and blue without the yellow line so I am a bit stuck! Thanks for your input anyway, much appreciated.

Just red and blue would be RA or RE and definitely not REME

Best wishes

Could it be Canadian?

The colours but not orientation match the Royal Montreal Regiment.

Thanks guys, I had a gut feeling that this flash was Canadian, although I will continue my search to identify it!
It’s to a Lt. DJ Sheridan RAOC, out of interest!

Could he have been commisioned to the RAOC then been "transferred" when the REME was established ?

Prior to REME's formation, maintenance was the responsibility of several different corps:

: Royal Army Ordnance Corps—weapons and armoured vehicles

Quote:
During World War II, the increase in quantity and complexity of equipment exposed the flaws in this system. Pursuant to the recommendation of a Committee on Skilled Men in the Services chaired by William Beveridge, the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers was formed on 1 October 1942.
