Requested Help on WW2 Slouch Hat formation badges, 1 a Chindits
Hello,
kindly request help with identifying unit formation badges on my two slouch hats. The first has a blue/yellow/white patch sewn. The second has a grand Chindit Chinthe badge on one side and what appears to be a faded blue triangle over an elongated red/blue strip badge on the other. Thank you and best, Steve |

slouch hat patches
the first one appears to be R.A.S.C. which would be correct the second possibly an Artillery unit attached to the Chindits , in one of my books it shows a similar patch for A.S.C. but with Blue / Yellow below triangle.

Hi Mike,
My guess would be: R.W.A.F.F. West African Army Service Corps, serving in Burma attached to the Artillery. Regards, Zob. Last edited by zob; 25-08-16 at 01:27 AM. |

Hi Mike,
I agree with Zob, Middle photo is RWAFF. Blue triangle indicates Sierra Leone Battalion, RWAFF Red and Blue rectangles indicate Artillery. Regards Brian |
