Default How They're Made

I ran across these short videos on YouTube and found hem interesting on how some of what we collect is made, and why see so many fakes and see the flaws in them. Sadly, they are not military related, but I am sure the techniques would apply. Three different types of badges.

One thing it doesn't answer is how and the artistic skills it took ot make such prior to computers.

I learned a lot, and hope you all find them interesting,

Terry

The last one showing sand casting is most interesting. Most Indian badges were likely made in a way similar to this. Also, the patination process used may give a hint as to how some OSD bronzed badges may have acquired their finish, but unfortunately the chemical used was not revealed.
