came across this cap tally, silk screened...
looing for some information on it, please and thank you |

Manufactured during WW2 and available only from commercial outlets such as Naval tailors, so not official issue
A blind eye was turned to the wearing of these tallies to some extent in the Royal Navy, unlike the Royal Canadian Navy who took a more stringent view of things (Naval order 2061 of the 16th of May 1942 ordering that such ribbons where not to ne worn, only H.M.C.S.). |

Hi, I have a photo of my dad (MDX/3056) wearing one whilst posted at HMS Safeguard. He was in the DEMS. He said whilst Safeguard was officially a recovery and recouperation base for sailors with sunk ships it was much more but have little else.
