Complicated - I think there are two languages here - the 20 and the next two (Chinese) - Possible 20 Battalion or Barracks and the remainder in another oriental language which I cannot identify. It's strange since the embroidery of the numeral 20 is perfect, but the remainder could be hand embroidered.

The first thought that I had when I saw the S/T was that it might be Korean. However, I am not familiar with the Korean script so it is little more than a guess.

It is Japanese, the usual mix of Kanji and Hiragana. Unfortunately my Japanese is no longer good enough to translate. It is definitely post war.

Forum member Kyle is I believe is fluent in Japanese. He would be a good person to ask if it is.

A Japanese friend suggested it might be a 20th anniversary badge of an unidentified company. Another friend kindly transcribed it if you want to try googling or otherwise translating it; 20??????? (I hope it works).
Both agreed it was kind of meaningless...so good luck! |

As I feared, the text won't work on here. If you pm me an email address, I will send - should work through email. Mike

Maybe screenshot it and attach as a picture?

I photographed it. But obviously, once you have it as text, you can start grinding it through search engines. They both agree it is all Japanese but different alphabets. Mike
