Default Royal Marine Beret Badge

This photo recently sold on eBay and I was wondering if it was possible to date it by the beret badge. I cropped the photo so the new owner wouldn't be upset with me posting it here and there is nothing on the uniform to help date the photo. 1940s/1950s?

I saw this one, couldn't make up my mind if the badge was King's or St Edward's Crown.
I think it's St Edward's.

Just compared it to mine at the same angle - looks like St Edwards to me...
