Default Rhodesian GS Cap Badge

Hi All
Can anyone please confirm the size of a Rhodesian General Service cap badge? I know they were quite small but I'd like to know if mine is a cap or a collar. It is 29,5mm wide and 31mm high.
Thanks, cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex,
I believe this is a S.Rhodesia Staff Corps collar badge (Post WWII) you have and not a General Service badge.

Let me know when you back in SA, so we can arrange delivery of the badge I owe you.

Regards
Steven

Thanks Steven. What is the size difference between the Staff Corps cap and collar badge, do you know? Difficult to tell from photos.
Cheers,
Alex

I believe they were originally a different design. I will need to look at my reference books.

Alex,
See this link that shows your collar badge appears to also have been worn as a cap badge.

Hi Steven
Excellent, thanks. The reason I wanted it is because they wore it in the SRAF and I wanted one for my RhAF collection, so it looks like it is the correct one. Thanks again, cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex

I would say a collar, I had a few cap badges in the past and they were bigger than this one, nice maker plate.

No need to keep looking - the officers of the SRAU wore them. Will post pictures once I am reconnected with my scanner.
