unknown anodised collar badges

I don't know if any one on the forum can tell me who may have worn these collars made by Toye?

Possibly South Wales Borderers? Rarely seen so whoever they were intended for perhaps not made in quantity or issued. Here are some images but of a slightly different Sphinx with different fittings but silver anodised?

Hi Tim,
I should have said that they are about 24mm in length & 20mm in height.
so they are fairly small collars.
The makers mark "Toye" makes me think of a more recent perhaps 90's issue?
That would possibly rule out a S.W.B link, I guess.

I can see both points of view here. I had a pair of these but with a single flat lug rather than pins. Theres also a FL badge that's larger which is likely to be a belt plate badge.
They do look like SWB collars,The SWB collars were very small. But Toye is more recent .
Is or was there a TA RA battery that converted from an SWB company in the Welsh Volunteers ? The only other thing I can think of is a school.

I was thinking a bit out of the box but perhaps they could be some sort of mess dress items for R.G.B.W ?
Mike I think your FL sphinx may well be part of the Cameronians sporran badge.

I dont think they are RGBW related.
All the RGBW badges were either cloth or metal. Offrs mess dress collars were cloth,NCOs the same as for No2s.

Clutch pin fittings would tend to indicate more recent manufacture. Any possibility that they are Royal Anglian collar badges that have been cropped?

Here is the back of a current issue 2 R ANGLIAN collar badge marked TOYE over LONDON and fitted with clutch pins. Measures 24mm x 20mm with flat back.

The collars haven't been cropped, but they do look remarkably like your 2 R. Anglian collars but without the battle honour.

Perhaps a new post BREXIT design which has required the removal of all European place name battle honours? The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards is next to meet (lose) their Waterloo ???

Colin, Ive got a pair of these small sphinx in anodised, but have a flat lug. I put them with my SWB set - but not with any confidence. I wondered if they were a SNCO's mess dress collars?
I only have one of their first pattern anodised collars and it is the same design sphinx.
It may be the case that this design was carried on into the R.Welsh Regt? The ones you show are clearly current manufacture I would suggest mate.

Unless we are all barking up the wrong tree and they are for a civilian band or something. Wouldnt be the first time.

Hi Gents,
Yes it's a bit confusing with all the sphinx's that have been worn by various Regiments.
I wonder if a Cadet unit has used these collars that are not entitled to the battle honour?
Anway here's a picture of what I thought may be a cameronian anodised sporran badge with the Facing Left sphinx - then again I could be wrong.........

I think Bobanodised has had the curved part for years,he could never find out what it was .
