Default Liverpool Irish officer badge from Molly

Thanks Alan G - I think you are referring to the 1939 Caubeen badge.

Thanks Peter - Yes, but it is a poor photograph
I will try to tweak it.

From Molly, it’s hardly likely to be genuine.

Agree. That does not have the quality I would expect of an officers badge.

Yes, of course the reverse should have been cast. It could have been a "Walking Out" which was either WM or plated WM. However, there is a photograph of an officer wearing a correct shape ?silver / plated silver on his khaki peaked cap. It could have been wearing a 5VB cap badge - I know one with a KC (cf my album OR 5VB versions) !?

Is there any comparison from the RIR badges ???

OK - there are two types of OSD badges (see my album). Would they wear an OSD badge only ???

Would they wear they a S&G or silver / plated badge on a dress cap / hat. What would other headgear would they wore ? The badge worn on the busby (from 1908-21) is very similar to the badge to the 1939 officer's caubeen badge (yes the HMS one - and other SP others).

The photograph is noted 'Altcar Camp 1908) but not the month.
Capt Earle and right a sergeant wearing a regimental badge (1896 Pattern).
