Smile Early Christmas present!

Our post person pushed a heavy package through the door this morning which landed with a loud thump on the mat, my wife said "have you ordered a book" to which I replied "no".

The parcel contained the latest copy of "The Bulletin" plus the Military Society Special number 2021, "British Army Headdress 1939 to 1945" by Jon Mills.

I can only say congratulations to Jon and the MHS, it looks to be the definitive work on the subject and I will advise all interested in headdress badges for that period to get a copy.

Rob

Jerry,
Included in membership fee (£20-£30 depending where you live). Usually four Bulletins and one Special Publication each year.

Would add that you also get online access to all past Bulletins and the Durbar publication.

thank you both, Simon and Tim, I have been meaning to join for ages and I finally did it, but it says the membership is for next year (2022) not this year!

The site bumf says if you join partway through the year, it covers that year and you get all backdated publications for the year, but obviously if my membership does not start until next year that wont happen

Mine has finally arrived and can only agree with Rob's comments, a great piece of work from Jon, recommended to all.

Mine arrived today, superb special number, particularly liked the picture of 136 Field Regiment slouch hat who’s Drill Hall around the corner from where I lived in Liverpool.

Just thinking about it, collecting Militaria is a great hobby ( despite restrikes ) but putting together a work of reference like Jon has done is giving something to the field of military history that will last well after our collections have been redistributed among future collectors.
