Default Royal Scots Volunteer Bn

Hello All,

Just acquired as part of a $8 apiece badge pile. Thoughts?

Nice badge but I think that the TF (or possibly militia) wore this one 1908-14 whilst the pre 1908 VB had title scrolls. There was also a bespoke badge for the 4th Bn which was a different design.

I agree with Alan, most likely TF but also possibly Militia or the ethereal ‘walking out’ badge.

The 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th all wore bespoke Royal Scots badges of the St. Andrew and the Star of the Order of the Thistle design.

The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 9th V.B.’s wore totally different designs all together.

A nice badge and not common, especially over here. We don't often see good stuff like this, but when it does come about, the prices are often a tiny fraction of what they would fetch in the UK. I have quite a few very good finds that I won't mention the price I paid.
