cheshire rgt badge
hi all
can anyone tell me if this is genuine and what it was worn on? smaller than the usual cap badge and i dont think its a collar thanks in advance bc |

I think it is a lugged reproduction of a WWI economy badge which the scroll has broken off, which is why the back of the bottom 3 star points seem rounded.

I think that Alex is right its just a brass copy with the scroll removed as I can see the damage where the scroll has been removed. However as Leigh points out collar badges made without a scroll as I have two in my collection. Both are 38mm and even under a magnifying glass there is no damage where the scroll would have been. On the point of the brass badge c1900 the 1st VB of the Cheshire Regiment wore blackened brass badges which at the time as I understand would have had lugs.
