Glider Pilot Rgt
Have had this for a while but missing the Crown found locally and always go back to shop as the previous owner keeps bringing bits in but owner of shop will not pass on details of the bloke nor pass on my details to him? frustrating as lives a few miles from me, he probably has Crown lying around or in a bench drawer?
R.A.F. Brize Norton trained Glider Pilots and was actively involved in the D-day Air landings, could this have adorned a gate guardroom or pist war entrance gate elsewhere? Enjoy! All the best billy Last edited by billy; 18-05-19 at 05:39 PM. |

It looks to be a nice ite, presumably the shop owner doesn't want you communicating with his source of supply for fear you'll cut out the middle man.
Is he prepared to ask if the crown is available? |

Just say - it's Army Air Corps.

Yeah easier! Army Air Corps without the ACC, or the Crown!

One of a facing pair, as you say, on gates?

There's two possibilities to this, post war or it's WW2 in the HQ building? Training centre? how can we tell? a photo would help and probably exists but finding it is pretty much impossible! fixing points are visable, it exists, and have a couple of others to Army Education Corps, Royal Corps of Transport, which I would have to dig out have seen such on Main gates and why I mention as such but easily put elsewhere? I don't really know (thoughts appreciated) it doesn't really sit with A.A.C. but more with Glider Rgt? but incomplete!

It is modern AAC. As previously stated used on camp gates, etc.
I have seen others. |
