Number 31 has motto ubique. Number 32 has upper scroll with spes bona then 1857 and the royal artillery motto in latin.
Ubique is used by both the Royal Regiment of Artillery and Corps of Royal Engineers in many Countries. Normally the collar badges for the RA have 7 flames and the RE nine, but not always. Spes Bona etc., is Cape Field Artillery.

Marc

I am always interested in Artillery insignia.

Thanks again Marc. I am currently taking stock of my collection and am sure I will find a number of artillery badges.

Default #7 & #30

Have to disagree on #7 - I think it is the wedge cap badges for German Army Aviation with the cockade in national colours and the wings beneath.

#30 is harder because of the size, but to my eyes, looks the Polish para qual for members who jumped into Poland in WWII as partisan assistance. Because of the small size, I'm thinking it's a vet's organization lapel pin. A closer picture might help.

As 54Bty (Marc) says, 32 is Cape Field Artillery. All I can add at the moment is that that style was in use post 1963 but I am not sure if it is still in use. I would be interested in seeing any other Artillery badges you may come across to add to my collection. I only collect commonwealth and former British Empire Artillery. You may check my albums here on the forum to compare with what you may have. Best regards, David J.

40 is Zambian, maybe police
45 is difficult because I can't make out the monogram in the centre but it's either Wiltshire Regiment or the Duke of Edinburgh's Own Royal Regiment.

Many thanks to Ian, David J and Alex for your contributions. Much appreciated.
I am uploading another group photo with some of the badges that a number of members have found difficult to view clearly. I hope this helps.

Alex I have looked at the monogram in the centre of number 45. Perhaps the new picture will help. It doesn't appear to match exactly with either the Wiltshire Regiment or Duke of Edinburgh's own Royal regiment. I would value your further opinion. Thanks Bill

No. 45 is a collar badge of the Wiltshire Regiment, worn 1893 - 1911, I think.

37. Italian, Ethiopian Campaign ribbon bar for Combatants 1935-1936, worn horizontal.
31. Possibly Royal Engineers officers collar badge.
47. Possibly a South African Artillery collar badge.

Thanks very much for that Marc especially the info on the Italian Campaign Ribbon bar. I would have struggled to identify that one!

A big thank you to everyone who has helped me so far to identify my unknown badges. I would still love to know if anyone can identify numbers 3,4,5,11,16 and 20. A couple of those ones are in the clearer revised picture I posted around midday. I feel that number 16 with the crossed lances is possibly British Indian Army but I can find no reference to it anywhere. Thanks again Bill.

I think you will find that number 11 is in a few collections unidentified, I have had one for a number of years with out a name.

Number 38 may have a US Aviation connection it is similar, but, yours seems to have text across the centre.
