LRDG Badge for Comment
This LRDG Badge was in a mixed auction lot today. I am sure it will prove to be a copy. I only observe that a WW2 seven digit service number has been inscribed by hand to the reverse an extra flourish of the faker perhaps? Any thought from the SF collecting fraternity gratefully received.
thanks Mark |

A very nice original badge you would get a very good price for it if you sold it.

Many thanks to all who replied. With so many copies I thought it extremely unlikely it would be a genuine piece. Auctions are still full of surprises, hunches and knowledge can pay dividends.

From the photograph of the obverse, you can very clearly see this particular badge has been worn, if only it could talk, I like it very much.

Well done Mark,
I have lost count of similar threads where the news (and badge) is always bad, so it's truly marvelous to see a find like this work out. The sort of find that keeps the dream alive.. Congratulation..! Cheerio, Roy.

Hello Mark,
Are you able to identify the service number on the back ..? It could be interesting to try to find the story of this badge. Best regards .. Herve |
