Default British Black Watch Cap Badge Repro?

I have not been on in a long time but the attached just walked in my door and I thought I would post some pictures of it as I am not sure if it is original or not. The 4 fold over thin prongs are throwing me for a loop(no pun intended) and also it is gilt on the face and the back as well. You can see were there were lugs on the back originally. Perhaps part of a crossbelt badge that has come off or removed. Any assistance in this matter is appreciated. Yes I will be selling it so any assistance as to pricing would also be appreciated. Thanks
Dave

Dave
looks like a genuine lugged ORs badge that has lost the original lugs, whether damaged or intentionally removed? Then the prongs have been added and the badge gilt! Probably not for military use!

Hi Andy
Thanks for the information. When you say probably not military use are you inferring veteran use?

As Andy mentioned, it most likely was not used by the British Army. It could have been used by any number of other entities such as Veterans organizations, civilian pipe bands etc.
When I was in a pipe band back in the 70's, we wore a full dress uniform based on the Black Watch including the badges.

That would explain it. Over here in Canada we dont really use unit hardware ie cap badges in civilian pipe bands which is why I was thrown by this item. Thanks very much. Do you have any idea on what it might be priced at?

Dave
in that condition you'd be lucky to get £2-3
