Hi Terry , haven't fully checked out the British Red Cross museum site but they have a searchable archive about badges which you may find interesting/helpful.

Looks like the badge was worn in numerous places depending on uniform.

Shows where they were worn 1954-1966

"Blue cotton short-sleeved dress with a revere collar, patch pockets on the chest and has a sewn on cloth VA Detachment badge."

Hi Terry , not a badge but thought you may appreciate this.

The Royal British Legion brought out a set of 3 postcards to commemoratate the centenary of WW1 , they were produced to look like the 'original' ones.

PS. At the beginning of the year someone was trying to sell one of the postcards as an original for £795.00 !

I recently found this article regarding he VAD and their relation to the BRCS and SJA. I am not sure about a couple of things it presents re the VAD uniforms.

http://www.photodetective.co.uk/VAD.html

It says he VAD associated with the BRCS wore a pale blue dress with a red cross on the front of their apron. And that the VAD associated with the SJA wore a gray dress with a plain apron.

Anyone have any thoughts or further information on this?

Terry
