Default 17th londons

im wanting to buy a 17th londons cap badge.Does anyone have any tips about spotting a repro from a good one?The blackened metal version.cheers

I would agree with that - the short plinths are a characteristic of modern repros. This is not to say that the design is wrong (I suspect it also occurs in OSD) but that fakes usually have it.

Not forgetting also as was pointed out to me, that those with sans serif lettering in the circlet are also considered to be fake. No serifs - No good!

Tommy,

The badges in Alan's album show the serif lettering in the circlet, signs of a good badge.

Default london regiment

Hi added some 17th london badges in gallery and my album section The top left is bronzed smith and wright ,the 2 center items are ex C.W collection 1983 ALL laurels and plinth touching,serif lettering-London regiment part general collection

If you collect london the 20th may be of interest 2nd in marked Ludski and son London [pre 1933] slidered

Only placed the 1 board if you go to gallery you should find it/or albums by lassiepen
