Depending on the shamrock colour it could also be Tyneside Irish

Same colours as the shoulder shamrocks, 1st Tyneside Irish red, 2nd light blue, 3rd purple, 4th black?

Looking at my photos of the IWM 1921 questionnaire returns I see the following

1st Bn RMF used a helmet marking that was “ shamrock painted green with white edging painted on front of helmet”

7th (S) Bn Royal Irish Regiment: “shamrock painted on the front of the helmet same size as worn on jacket (specimen attached) adopted Aug 1918. No covering on steel helmet”

I dont see any other reporting unit call out shamrocks as helmet markings. I dont have the dimensions or an image for the 7 R.Irish shamrock.
