Default 1st Goorkha Light Infantry silver badges Help needed.

Howzit guys,
Two more badges from this mornings purchase.

The first badge to the 1st Goorkha Light Infantry. Made by Bent & Parker Birmingham 1886. Sterling Silver. The reverse of the badge has three screw posts.

The second badge to the 1st Goorkha Light Infantry. Made by Bent & Parker Birmingham 1886. Sterling Silver with blackened brass knives on the front. The badge has two screw posts on the reverse.

Any info appreciated.

Once again, the crown and date don't quite match up, and I cant find any similar badges pictured online?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Tinus

Very very nice. Top one is an officers crossbelt badge worn from 1886-1891. The one below is not listed and I have to admit to being not sure on that but the hall mark dating it to the same as the top badge leads me to suspect it may be a pouch badge. How big is the bottom one?

regards
Steve

Tinus, interestingly the Regt only changed their title to 1st Goorkha Light Infantry on the 12 April 1886. So given the hallmark it's likely this was the first design used by the Regt after the title change? It was changed again to 1st Gurkha (Rifle) Regiment in February 1891. Regards Tim
