Default chindit patches -do they face the same way ?

Today I bought a group of medals to Capt. B A Page ( that what it said on his only named medal, a GSM, bar Palestine 1945-48 ). Evidently Page was in the Chindits during WW2 and the lot included 2 bullion wire div patches , both facing the same way. Was this the way they were worn ?
