Help with RAF button ID

Hi can anyone help me! I found a button on Ventnor downs on the Isle of Wight and despite loads of searching I cannot find what it is? It has the RAF eagle on it but no crown....I’m stumped!....any help appreciated! Oh and I’m not good at this computer stuff and can’t attach a pic!

It might be American military from WW2, or maybe a livery button. Perhaps you can find help to post the image.
