My great grandfather collected badges during WW1 when he served in England. Belgium and France. This was one of the badges he left me... any idea of what it may be worth?

Hi Robb0124'

Firstly let me say that's a nice original badge you have there and whilst not rare it is reasonably scarce on a slider. As to what's it worth would depend on how you intend (if you do) to dispose of it. I collect to the East Riding Yeomanry and would say anywhere between £40 - £60 both of which are prices I have previously paid for identical examples, others may have differing opinions, whilst I personally don't mind giving you my opinion of a ball park value of your badge some on here for reasons known unto themselves get upset with people asking for valuations without stating a motive, I would therefore suggest that if you are considering selling your badges in the near future and are looking at advice on here as what to ask for them you say so in order to keep the peace.

Kind regards,

FMT600

I have had this picture saved for a while as part of my 79th AD interest. Always wondered what is behind the beret badge, as it looks more like a plastic oval disc than any felt patch??

There is also a good picture on the ERY wiki page of an OC briefing group in the field and the officers are all wearing collars still on their BD whilst combat deployed!

Cheers……John
