There is no pleasing certain people, you moan when someone sells a fake as genuine, and you still moan when someone states it is a fake IN THE FIRST LINE OF THE DESCRIPTION. |

Its especially galling when dealing with a decent dealer like Lew when so many blatantly dishonest dealers receive no criticism whatsoever. |

I repeat that when you look at listings on eBay on an iPad, the main description is given below a banner which states 'more like this'....these are listings that have not finished. I was simply pointing out that some people may not have thought to scroll down......you are incorrect in suggesting that this only happened once a listing has finished. I fear that comments such as 'doh!' do not really add to the argument......particularly as it is easily checked and does not alter whichever orientation is on the screen. My comment can be viewed as a comment on eBay's listing presentation and as far as I can see did not warrant a response from 'Bewley' in the use of the word 'doh'.... that I suppose is down to yourself Bewley. I am sure that forum members do not accept contributions that attempt to belittle.
Sorry, but I feel it had to be said. |

The bottom line is the seller described it as a FAKE.
What the hell does it matter WHERE it says that within the listing. Its not like he's hidden it in some tiny part of the listing. Its in big writing in the description. If you buy something on ebay and dont read the description then you are stupid. leave the guy alone and others like him who are up front and honest. regards

Manchester makes a very good point, there is a lot of very dodgy stuff on E bay and some sellers do their best to hide the true origins of items behind some fancy descriptions. Always worth reading descriptions, and looking at photos at least once closely before bidding.
P.B.

If you don't have an axe to grind, Why make accusations?

No one is making accusations. I have just re-read all the posts in this thread and I can't find a single accusation.
All agree that the seller of the item in question is very genuine and honest and no one has questioned his integrity. All agree that his listing description quite clearly states that the item is a restrike or fake badge and he has been praised for stating this upfront. Some believe that it might have been more helpful if the word fake or repro had been put in the listing title as well as the description and some don't like dealers selling fakes or repros at all. Those are just opinions, not accusations. Perhaps the mods should close this thread before anyone says anything they might later regret. |
