Smile Royal Artillery sergeant WW1

Hi all,

This postcard I like as it shows his Sergeants arm badge of the artillery above his rank stripes and I note his whistle hanging from his breast pocket down beside his bandolier. I had only imagined Infantry Officers to carry whistles. I am no uniform boffin but I thought this was an early pattern bandolier.

I see he has 4 overseas service chevrons and two wound stripes. He has a lanyard and I think these are indeed late war issued but am not sure on this punt.

Dated 1919 one wonders of the horror of the War, "Your loving brother Cecil" lived through, Lest We Forget, cheers Dean.
