Default Royal Flying Corps Wings

Gentlemen,
Could I ask your expert opinions on the authenticity of these RFC Wings? I have looked through the gallery, but can not find an exact match, or am I not looking hard enough ? The badge itself is filthy, so sorry if the colours are dull. I have tried to a get a close shot to aid inspection. All comments welcome.
Regards, Jim.

Looks to me to be a modern fake which has been artificially aged yet the melton background appear to be in perfect condition. As Steve says the embroidery is very coarse.

Hi Steve, The badge is stitched onto a patch of cloth, presumably uniform cloth, I cant actually see the back of the badge without unpicking the stitching....if however you think this is definitely a fake, I will unpick it....Jim.

O.K. lads, I value your expert opinions. I am not disappointed ! The badge has been fed to the cat .....and I have put the wife outside for the night.

Jim,

there are several posts warning of NOT to buy cloth badges that are sen onto a piece of khaki cloth.

Its always done so to hide the rear of the badge which is to a collector the greatest give away.
The material they use is often not even uniform but a blanket.

regards

Strange looking badge, I too think it is spurious.

I hope you did not pay much, if sold as original, just return it.
