That's a cracker thanks for sharing Alan. Churchill notes the backing as being granted for wear from 1935 on collar badges with oval shaped backings more likely to be 1st Battalion. I note the musician's collar badges are not backed but his cap badge is, cheers Dean

I assumed his collar was already the correct colour so no backing was needed.
