Jon,
Top right, see:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kodam_VII/Wirabuana

Trikora is a place name and was also the code name for Indonesian operations to seize the Netherlands East Indies in 1961 and 1962 (so may be used as an honour title by a contemporary Indonesian Army formation or unit.

Stashed away somewhere is my former Regiment's copy of the official recognition manual for Indonesian Army signs c 1964. Although he claimed no credit for it, much of the work that went into it was carried out by one Major John Waring! Perhaps I should bequeath it to the MHerS Library in due course? Mike

Thank you both for your help. Much appreciated.

Interesting that John Waring's work was officially appreciated.

Next time the book surfaces I'll post a few of the illustrations (details of some formation signs were taken from Indonesian soldiers killed or captured in Sarawak and Malaya) Mike

Some remarkable images that I have never seen before are to be found here. I think these are Indonesian Paras who were dropped into south Johore and were dealt with by a combination of Gurkhas and RAR. Mike

I see the images were taken by the late Larry Burrows, MIA Vietnam? Just done a quick google, what were believed to be his remains, with others, were recovered in 2008

Interesting to see the Bri-Mob badge in post no. 1.
I worked with a Bri-Mob officer 20-odd years ago, I never got my hands on such a badge though he did give me his metal insignia and one of his uniforms.

Commander of a counter terrorist unit, a very small, wirey bloke, I wouldn't have wanted to cross him.
