Default 21st Lancers ?

After looking at several examples of the 21st Lancer badge, both on dealers' sites and in the albums on this site, I have noticed that they are voided, both the XXI and the VRI monogram. My badge is not, making me wonder if it is a variation or another example of the fakers craft. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Well, unfortunately it does not look too good. I myself have never seen a genuine unvoided example, but perhaps some of our more experienced members might chime in here.

Default 21st Lancers

Hi
I can't say whether your badge is good or not, but I have a similar one in my collection which I believe to be genuine, mainly because of the source. It came off a board of badges put together by a serviceman in the 1920's. It is all brass and poorly made so I guess it was late WWI when the standards were apparently dropping to keep up with production. I haven't made any attempt to clean it yet, so it looks pretty bad as it is quite corroded.
Rgds,
Alex
