Hi All,
Just wanted to say Hi! to all the forum members. I bought my first cap badge at a gun show about 5 years ago, Royal Dragoons for $5, I was hooked from then on. Not sure if it the genuine article, but I didn't care...

I have bought several since then, but I think I need to get smart about what I buy (I love the look of the British cap badges, they have character and are miniature sculptures as far as I am concerned ), instead of purely relying on what I find pleasing to my eyes, lol.

So I have come to hang out with people smarter than me.

Thanks
BadgeHunter

Welcome to the forum! I'm near Greensboro, NC, so we are practically neighbors. What era are you interested in? Perhaps I can teach you a few tricks to spotting the fakes and the real deal. I have been collecting , mainly WW2, for over 20 years in and out of the UK, so I should be able to at least show you the basics and point you in the direction of some good reference materials. The remainder of my family collects WW1 and earlier items. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

Happy Hunting,

Jeff
