The company name did not change until 1962.
They are now part of Ammo & Co and state this on their website. |

I’m not sure why that date 1962 is there.
They certainly marked items from around 1936 with D&N A pretty long apprenticeship for Mr Dalman if correct Some marks pre 1960 |

As I said they’re now part of AMMO.
From the horses mouth... https://www.ammoandco.co.uk/pages/se...ching-division Quote ’’The company remained in the ownership of the Narborough family and in 1925 a Mr S.C. Dalman, a Narborough nephew joined the company. In 1962 S.C. Dalman succeeded in being appointed Managing Director when the company changed its name to Dalman & Narborough. His son, John P. Dalman joined the company who in turn, became managing director in 1971. His son, Stephen J. Dalman became his successor in 1993.’’ So not an apprenticeship but when he became MD. Which is entirely conceivable. Hallmarks are a different kettle of fish entirely and no inferences can be drawn versus a sheet metal mark. |
