Default Duke of Wellington's Regiment "Brigade Pattern" Collar Badges in GILT ?????

A faced, matched pair of Duke of Wellington's Regiment collar badges from the "Brigade" era - worn circa 1958 until 1970 ish - but why in GILT ??? I've never seen them in anything other than silvered or silver coloured anodised . Assuming due to the gilding that these are officers quality ?

Once positively identified, they will be offered for sale.

TIA

Paul

Paul re West riding -CHurchill page 147 brigade -officers wore similar to other ranks pattern but in silver plate some with a frosted appearance Also noted in gilt
Re Gloucesters- Silver plate as far as I am aware One of the regiments that I have given to my grandchildren , a frame in one of my albums showing the gilt collars

That’s helpful, it’s nice to know that they are noted in Churchill.

Hi Paul,
The 5th (Wellington Rifles) Regiment (New Zealand) wore these collar badges in gilt, post WW2.
Cheers, John

I had a set given to me when I was in Bulford in mid 80s - the DW were over the road.
