For a better quality photo I would highly recommend obtaining a copy, digital, hard or both, from here, albeit you have to pay. I am not linked in any way to the site but I was delighted with the quality photographs I received of my cousin’s grave in Argenta, Italy.

Alternatively, you may also find this site of help and they provide photos free of charge. They say that they have photographs of 80% of the graves in Etaples, so Cecil’s may well be among those. They’re currently working on the site, apparently, but it says you can still contact them via the form on their requests page.

It’s also possible that one or more members on the GWF has already photographed his grave.

I presume you have already searched on the CWGC site which has some very moving photographs of Etaples Military Cemetery attached to his record entry that would make fitting additions to your album.

I have tried to find his service records but sadly without success and I fear, therefore, that his were among those lost to the Luftwaffe in WW2. I hope I may be proved wrong.

Many thanks Martin for all the time put in - what a great forum this is, I never cease to be amazed by knowledge etc on here. I have been a member for years and try to help in my own area of specialism (WW2 Cdo) but the combined strength on here is awesome ...
Rhanks again

I'd like to think you meant "digging" rather than "dogging" - apparently the latter is very different to "digging"....
