Default Lighthorse & Tank Corps Badges????

I was looking at the below badges and I am very suspicious of the authenticity of all three.
The 25th LG MG Regt hat badge is flat backed but not the correct "Moat" flat back and the maker mark is impressed where as I believe it should be raised maker. The lugs appear wrong and has a general feeling to me as a fake???
Here is a 100% original 25th LH MG Hat badge with the correct "Moat" flat back and raised maker mark:

The Tank Corps front and back appears to look ok but the lugs are not right?

The 10th LH Hat badge lugs don't look right either, all three badges appear to have the same lugs?????

Would be glad to hear other's opinion's

Thanks, Jas

They all seem to have the same lugs and all from the same seller/source???
Plenty of eager bidders about to purchase some fake junk I suspect.

Is it possible that for the 10th LH and Tank Corps that lugs may have been replaced for some reason?

I don't have a problem with the front and back of either badge. The lugs are unusual though.

Copies of the 25th Light Horse exist - I believe this one is a copy.

John Burridge write on his website about it:

"Collectors should be aware that the 25th LH hat badge has been reproduced and should reject flat back badges with impressed makers mark. It should also be noted that the machine gun under the swan is a separate piece."

Hello all,

Take a look at this 10th LH hat badge on this Militaria site, it is 100% original badge.
http://militaria-sales.com.au/10th-l...42-p-2773.html
Now compare it to the one listed on ebay, the differences in the enamel swan, scroll detail are confronting! Apart from the lugs the detail is just not there. Look at the ridges under the swan on both badges and the area around the swan on both. Zoom in on the ebay one and you should see what I am talking about. I think the whole three badges fake.

Jas

I have 3 of the Paratus beret badges and half a dozen collars in my collection. They all have different lugs than the ones depicted on eBay, its not conclusive but it may assist someone thinking about bidding on the Paratus badge. I have attached a pic of a brass and a oxy beret badge and a brass collar to help people come to their own conclusion.

I have dealt with the seller in the past and his badges have always been good.

Those lugs on the pics you posted are exactly what should be present on the rear of the ebay badges. It's a shame people are obviously unaware and are about to waste money on these items. Perhaps the seller is unaware of what he is selling??

With the 10th L. H. badge, what has happened to the "E" at the end of the second "PERCUTE"?

I hate those fuzzy out of focus pictures. They hide a lot of faults.

I've got two of these tank badges and both have these fittings. However I would say it's a collar badge and not a cap badge.

Well some people just made expensive mistakes in paying those prices for that junk.
