At least one other person did as well Mike, or possibly even several, if the bidding went that high.

It ticks the right boxes, but, given it wasn't attributed, I wouldn't have paid that much for it.

I wonder if it was bought by a genuine collector or acquired by an investor creating a diverse portfolio.

If that's been acquired by an investor, i doubt they'll ever see return on it. Not in their lifetime anyway.....

The mind boggles. A case of too much money. Wish I was the seller.

Default So for years there's no white or early SAS berets then....

In 18 months there's about 4 or 5. Well I'll eat my hat (pun intended).
A couple may well be original, indeed I'm sure they were, but without provenanc, it's just a beret with a story.
And one buys the item not the story.
£22K is a ridiculous amount. It's nice, but not a white beret!!!!
If you've got the money though, why not?
Can't take it with you.

Default Switzerland...

So clearly someone with a tax free status then! Apparently went to a buyer/asylum patient/money launderer in Switzerland......£22,000 lets just let that settle in....
