Default My Air Despatch display

Hello

I normally receive from the forum, but for once I wanted to share part of my growing Airborne collection.

Default Air Despatch

Paul,

A nicely set up display. Perhaps you could share more information about the RASC cap badge with the yellow plastic backing in the bottom centre of the picture. I was under the impression this was used to denote instructors in the RASC schools etc. What is the airborne link?

Thanks, Stephen.

As I am an Air Despatcher, it’s always good to see. Love it. Out of interest, what is the AAC cap badge relation? Only thing I can think of some horsa gliders did have AD roller fitted with pilot and 2nd pilot being AAC?
Cheers
Matt

All the airborne units (para, Glider and air landing & SAS) were originally part of the AAC.

My comment was more by way of a theoretical reasoning rather than a statement of what was actually worn Matt, especially in regards to a collectors display.

A very nice collection indeed.
I really do need to get me a couple of Air Despatcher titles.

Good luck with your collecting

Thanks for all the responses.

The insignia is from different sources, the Yellow Airborne came together, as did the Dakota patches.

I added the AAC as I thought they would have come under the same banner. As for the RASC cap badge and shoulder titles I do not know if they even wore them.

I have looked extensively and information is sporadic, and I cannot find any good pictures for reference.

Any further information would be appreciated.
