Air Ministry Constabulary Cap and /or Shoulder Strap Badge?
I have an idea this king's crown AMC chromed badge was worn on the shoulder strap rather than being a cap badge but may be totally out with that.
Was it worn on cap, collar and or shoulder please? Or is it a copy, as I believe king's crown chromed are faked. |

Hi Leigh
They wore "AMC" shoulder titles and badges as you show on the cap. As you say they are widely faked and the one you show is not one I would have had in my collection, in my experience the chrome on the genuine ones was rather thin and dulled to an almost white metal colour with hints of brass showing through. Hope this helps Graham

Thanks, I just had an idea that at some time the cap badge design was also worn on the shoulder strap.
I've read on forum that the chromed badge fakes tend to be particularly bright and shiny? |

They may be nickle plated rather than chrome that gives them a more softer look on originals, just a thought.

Thanks for that.
