Bradley - I suggest you invest in some British badge books since you are always asking for badges to be ID'ed - Kipling and King is a very good one .

The white rose badge is a pre WW2 Formation badge for the 49th (West Riding) Infantry Division. During WW2 it was replaced by the Polar Bear cloth patch. Hope that helps

Hello bc,
The knot is a collar badge and could well be to the 3rd and 4th Battalions ( Militia ) to the North Staffordshire regiment ' Colin Churchill Fig 1567 '. This is described as an ' error ' pattern, from the 1890's, with the plumes and motto in gilding metal and the coronet and knot in white metal, some times worn by Officers' in silver and gilt, I could of course be wrong ???? The other two are the Manchester regiment and the Shropshire Yeomanry ( possibly post 1950 ), I hope this helps....... Dave. |

Item no. 3, Rose with screw fixing.
This is the side rosette as used on British police helmets. The military version would have either a ring or hook attached to hold the chin chain. http://www.pmcc-club.co.uk/museum/di...lbum=272&pos=3 http://www.pmcc-club.co.uk/museum/di...at=41&pos=-901 |
