French Touristy? Patriotic WW2 badge

Something makes me think I had a patriotic badge in years past that was easily identifiable as French or British. I forget what that badge was but this one conforms exactly in terms of manufacture, metal, finish and paint.

Any ideas? I'm pretty sure it's not military of course.
