I also thought initially it might have been a rosette from a Volunteer Blue cloth helmet but comparing it with one,the rose is different. P.B.

Thanks for the size. The only difference between yours and the one I have seems to be the brass backplate. I assume that its one that was used as it is very slightly domed around the centre. It would also have stopped the rose edges from damaging the uniform. rgds, david |
