Default Possibly Cdn. ID help please?

I offered to try to ID this badge for a friend. It is reportedly some early issue for Canadian Special Services. Just looking at the construction, I might guess it dates to the 1980's - 90's?? Can anyone tell me what it is?

Thanks Ed. Having a name/description has brought up a few more images on the internet. So it goes on the Left breast pocket then? Does anyone have an image of it on a uniform? Thanks in advance.

As Ed has stated, this is certainly a nice find. It's a scarce badge, and those who proudly wear it have busted their minds & bodies to earn the privilege to do so. An eBay vendor has been listing the same insignia for upwards of $200 CAD. Cheers,

Walt

Here's a bit more information and my example. There are now repros of this badge.
