Default Cavalry cap badge that is difficult to make out

Hello,

I'm not yet very good at identifying uniform, however, I assume this is a member of the household cavalry or a dragoon guard (but perhaps I am wrong).

For some reason the badge is not clear (and may be impossible to make out), however, I wondered if the uniform can be identified?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Doubt it will help but grandad was 2nd LG- circa 1919. I know that the flask cord on the cross belt was red for 1st LG and blue for 2nd LG.Regards, Paul.

Seemingly the corners of the collar on the tunic for 2 LG were more rounded but it must have been hard to spot. My photo is not as sharp as your picture, but grandads collar 'may' be more rounded, open where as you man has a very sharply closed collar that could 'possibly' point to 1LG Regards, Paul. http://www.uniformology.com/HHC-10.html
