Default Thoughts on these Chindit and Raider Support Regiment patches

Hi all, I've had these for some time and always suspected that they were fakes. I looking for confirmation of my suspicions from the forum. None of the patches glow under black light.

Greg,
The RSR badge is an out and out fake. As I found out to my cost, it looks very similar to the one I was sold by the 'SF' dealer discussed in a previous thread about this badge (a hard lesson for me, easy money for him...).

Apart from anything else, the lines under the 'RSR' are going the wrong way - which is mentioned as typical in Talk of Private Armies (got mine too late to save me from getting screwed over).

I don't have the fake I was sold by him with me, but from memory they should run from top left to bottom right not from bottom left to top right.
He also used to have one in his album alongside a good one....
I am not sure if I have left it in my album or not (My Badges) for you to see.
Good luck, David

Thanks David re the RSR badge. Thankfully, I have almost nothing in it, less than a cup of coffee at a Starbucks. So one goes into the junk bin, now we'll have to see about the Chindit stuff.

All fake in my opinion, the Chindit stuff is the same as sold on ebay The RSR appears to be the fake oddball variety in Khaki... hmmm

Hi David, although the direction of the lines is a bad sign it is not a hard and fast rule I remember Tynesideirish having a vets one wich had the lines in the other way , the size was also smaller. I think most of them were locally made in Yougoslavia. I agree this example is a lightning fake JB.

Greg, you will see that the white threads to the rear of the RSR badge are synthetic if you do a burn test.

I think the Chindits shoulder title is a fine original example.
